Nothing is worse than running your trains on rails that are grimy from dust, dirt and grit. It's important to keep your track clean to maximize the performance of your locomotive fleet.

Each item includes one track cleaning car which enables the following functions: vacuum-cleaning (one insert), polishing (three inserts) and grinding (three inserts). It also includes a tool for changing the inserts, so different functions can be chosen, along with a foam wiper and a multi-lingual manual. The HO Scale Track Cleaning Car will be available with an 8-pin DCC plug, NEM coupler pockets, standard HO knuckle couplers, a switch for functions and it will be equipped with a motor which powers the cleaning fuctions (only).
Note: The track cleaning car is not self-propelled. A locomotive is needed to move this car. It is also possible to use cleaning liquid while polishing. The liquid is dispersed from the tank integrated in the car. |

This track cleaner had been well thought out, vacuuming polishing cleaning. Looks in place with other track maintenance cars on Thalassa Pass Link and realistically there is maintenance being done.
The vacuum works well collecting dust and loose ballast of the track, ideal for long tunnels like on Thalassa Pass Link. How ever be aware that some stones and other foreign matter will jams the suction blades and the unit needs to be removed to be unjammed and reset. Some items of ballast will spit out from the lid as it does not seal like a proper vacume cleaner, some fine dust does get blown in to the area where the motor is, it is advised that when emptying the unit give it a good shake while it is up side down.
The polishing discs work well and is handy for area that can not be reached for cleaning with out having to use access hatches. The polishing pads do bring up the track looking better than new, using the cleaning fluid the rail remain cleaner for a longer period of time.
The unit I had purchased, I had installed a small DCC decoder to operate on DCC and works well. When the motor gets a tad hot the safety feature in this unit it shuts down so put it a side for a few minutes and off you go again.
This a must have car for those who have layouts where track access is hard to get to even if not it helps to clean the track and or have it hooked up to a maintenance train and still have fun operating your trains while the track is being cleaned
