Great technology

What great technology for DCC operators and a superb model with realistic operation.
I had purchased this model as a trail for my Thalassa Pass Link and was impressed with the options that this locomotive has, and it is almost a real engine too.
I was impressed with the real cuffing smoke that comes out from the smoke stack and it is almost real except for the smell. As the engine labors up the pass with a rack of freight or passenger it puffs out smoke, how ever when the engine is stationed I could not notice the smoke coming out. Following the instructions I was able to operate the train smoke up to an hour before the smoke oil needed to be topped out. A huge progress with the smoke units, hope fully will be implemented on other steam engines as they come out of production.
My favorite part of the DCC option is the programmable auto running. I programmed my locomotive to do 3 circuits of my layout with 2 stops using passenger cars. All function chosen worked during auto run including changing turn outs and other various sound functions. This option is great for some one who has a layout like mine and wants to operate 2 trains and has passing loops. Have this one run in Auto mode while you operate another engine manually and slot it in between this steam engine. Makes a good challenge when operating bi directional and try not to have a disaster.
The overall detail is great with out counting the rivets and comparing it with any proto types, I will be buying some more and recommend this Paragon 2 model who wish to purchase it, I find it great value for money as well.
